Client work changes faster than the employment record should.
A new starter should be ready before the client work begins
Bring starter details, documents, right-to-work evidence and policy acknowledgements into one repeatable journey instead of rebuilding the checklist after every new account win.
The employee record should survive the next account move
Keep the current manager, team, working pattern and dated employment changes with the person, even when project plans and client assignments change around them.
Freelancer and employee are not interchangeable labels
Record the people you employ clearly and review status when a contractor relationship changes. Employment rights follow the reality of the working relationship, not the label on an invoice.

Can HollyHR manage employees and freelancers?
HollyHR is strongest as the core HR record for the people you employ. You can keep basic person and document records where appropriate, but freelancer scopes, invoices, availability and commercial terms should stay in your contractor or project systems.
How do we decide whether someone is employed or self-employed?
You cannot choose status from a preferred label. Current government guidance says it follows the reality of each working relationship, including control, personal service, financial risk and integration into the business. Review the position when the relationship changes and take advice where the answer is uncertain.
Does HollyHR handle project resourcing or timesheets?
No. Use your delivery system for project allocation, utilisation and time recording. HollyHR keeps the underlying employment record, leave, sickness and employee documents organised.
Can account leads approve leave without seeing confidential HR records?
Managers can receive the team context and actions available to their role without receiving blanket access to confidential employee information. Assign reporting lines and permissions to match the responsibility they actually hold.
