The realities of manufacturing employment

One employer can contain very different working weeks.

Production, warehouse and office teams need a shared employment record even when their patterns, locations and training differ.
Teams, evidence and working patterns
One workforce

Office and production teams need one employment record

Keep the current role, department, manager, location and agreed working pattern together instead of maintaining a separate staff list for each part of the business.

Training evidence

Training evidence needs to follow the person and the work

Record the evidence, requirement owner and next review date your safety process produces, while competence and safe operation remain with qualified managers and systems.

Shift cover

Shift work makes absence and cover more consequential

Keep holiday and sickness visible to the appropriate manager, with the agreed working pattern behind the record, while live scheduling and fatigue controls stay in operational tools.

How HollyHR helps

The equipment, process and safety controls vary. The employed team still needs one current people record.

Engineering firms

Workshop, engineering, project and support employees across departments.

Food and drink producers

Production, quality, warehouse and office employees across working patterns.

Fabricators and workshops

Skilled production and support teams working around specialist equipment.

Consumer-goods manufacturers

Production, fulfilment, product and commercial employees under one employer.

Electronics and technology production

Technical, assembly, quality and operations teams with recorded requirements.

Packaging and materials businesses

Site-based and office employees working across production and distribution.

These are examples, not a statement about the safety controls your work requires.

Questions before you switch

Straight answers to common questions.

Check the practical details before deciding whether HollyHR fits your team.
Does HollyHR include rotas or clock-in?

No. Use your workforce or production system for live shifts, clock-in, overtime and cover. HollyHR keeps the agreed working pattern, employment record, leave and sickness organised alongside it.

Can we record training and equipment competence evidence?

You can keep documents and dated requirements against the employee where that fits your safety and retention process. HollyHR does not deliver training, assess competence or confirm that a person is safe to use equipment.

Can HollyHR support more than one site or department?

Yes. Locations, departments, reporting lines and roles are part of the core people record. Use them to organise the team and assign appropriate manager access, not as a replacement for site access or safety controls.

Does HollyHR monitor working-time or fatigue limits?

No. HollyHR records agreed working patterns, leave and sickness, but it is not a time-and-attendance or fatigue-risk system. Use actual hours and current HSE and GOV.UK guidance when assessing shift design, night work and working-time compliance.

How much does HollyHR cost for a manufacturing team?
