The working week rarely follows one neat pattern.
Part-time does not mean approximate
Keep each employee's actual working pattern behind leave and sickness so balances and requests reflect the week they really work.
One person may work across more than one location
Keep the current home location, manager and employment details together without turning every salon or studio into a separate spreadsheet.
Training and review dates need an owner
Store the employment documents and training evidence you choose to keep, with expiry-dated requirements alongside. Health surveillance itself remains a qualified occupational-health job.
Keep the team record clear behind the appointment book.
Working patterns behind every balance
Keep the agreed week with each employee so holiday and sickness start from the hours they actually work.
- Record part-time patterns
- Keep dated changes with the employee
Leave across locations
See balances and team availability before approving time away, without building another wall chart.
- See the working pattern behind a request
- Keep request status clear
Documents ready for the next starter
Bring contracts, policies and the employment evidence you record into one repeatable onboarding journey.
- Reuse starter steps
- Track policy acknowledgements

Can HollyHR manage part-time and varied working patterns?
Yes. Keep the working pattern with each employee so holiday, sickness and the people record reflect their normal week. Review the pattern when agreed hours change rather than correcting balances later.
Does HollyHR include salon bookings, rotas or commission?
No. HollyHR is the core employee record. Keep appointments, daily rotas, treatment bookings and commission calculations in your salon, scheduling or payroll software.
Can we use HollyHR across several salons or studios?
Yes. Locations, managers and organisation structure are part of the people record, so an employee can have one current employment file within the organisation rather than a different file at each site.
Does a salon need health surveillance for wet work?
It depends on the risk assessment. HSE says health surveillance may be appropriate where frequent or prolonged contact with water creates a residual dermatitis risk. A competent health and safety or occupational-health adviser should decide the programme. HollyHR can keep agreed dates and non-clinical evidence, but it does not perform the assessment or medical surveillance.
How much does HollyHR cost for a salon or wellbeing team?
