The realities of financial services employment

The people record must stay clear beside regulated work.

Role changes, review evidence and careful access need a dependable employment record without turning HR software into a compliance claim.
Roles, evidence and controlled records
Accountability

Accountability changes need a dated employment record

Keep role, manager, department and agreed employment changes with the employee so the people record does not rely on an old organisation chart or private note.

Review evidence

Review evidence needs an owner and a next date

Record the documents and review requirements your firm chooses to keep, with an owner and expiry or review date, while the underlying regulatory judgement remains in its governed process.

Confidential access

Sensitive records need narrower access

Give managers the team information required for everyday work without treating every confidential employee document as part of the same view.

Questions before you switch

Straight answers to common questions.

Check the practical details before deciding whether HollyHR fits your team.
Does HollyHR manage SM&CR or certification?

No. Use the current FCA regime and your compliance process for responsibilities, certification, fitness and propriety decisions and reporting. HollyHR can hold employment details and recorded evidence, but it is not an SM&CR register or compliance engine.

Can we record fitness and propriety review evidence?

You can keep documents and dated requirements against the employee where that fits your retention and access rules. The regulated firm remains responsible for the assessment, evidence standard, decision and next review date.

Does HollyHR issue or validate regulatory references?

No. Regulatory references need the current FCA process and appropriate review. HollyHR can help you keep the underlying employment history organised, but it does not request, validate or submit a regulatory reference.

Can managers approve leave without seeing every employee document?

Yes. Role-aware access can give managers the team context and actions their role permits without granting blanket access to confidential employee files. Your administrators remain responsible for assigning the right role and reporting line.
